Being different just might be the key to everything
Sincere Lewis was fighting demons from every side; especially inside. She was nicknamed Sin because she had committed enough to earn the title. But, her alter identity was worse than toxic waste. They called on her codename pop when things were terminal. Pop gave people nightmares with folk crossing their hearts who weren't even catholic.

Tubes running from his arm, Roger gingerly lifted up to sip his drink. “My counselor thinks it would be a great idea for us to have some sessions with her together.”
Feeling the beige walls and antiseptic smell closing in on her, Monica pulled the drink back.
“I don’t know why, we’re not a couple.”
“You’ve been here every day for the last five days. So, yes, we are a couple. You said you would marry me.”
Roger pressed the button, and the hospital bed whined as it rose until he was even with Monica’s gaze.
“We were six years old.” Her eyes rolled skyward.
Bandaged and reaching for her hand tentatively, Roger said, “Doesn’t matter, you promised.”
Monica peeked at him under her eyelids. “You’re broke.”
“You’re broken,” Roger said in a matter-of-fact manner.
Outraged, Monica jumped up.
Roger frowned at her antics. “Sit down, girl. We will always be honest with each other. I remember a little girl who was innocent and pure. She stood up for me when nobody else cared to. We’ve both made so many bad choices. We’ve hurt people because we were hurting. Sweetheart, we deserve each other.”
Monica sank down. She picked up the cup and held it to his lips. “We’ll see.”
Roger smiled, and his eyes lit up his entire face. “Yes, my queen, we will.”

I was first intrigued by this book from looking at the cover. When I read the sample, I WAS HOOKED!!!! Ms. Harrell created a masterpiece that combined historical fiction, fantasy and faith! She skillfully weaves a story that begins with the pain and trauma of slavery and brings the story forward to present day, with the characters stories being told in separate chapters, and then subsequently, coming together. I loved this book and also signed up for the bonus chapter. I hope there is a part two? The characters John ( the father), Sari and Junie ( the children), are slaves on the Benson plantation in the South. Junie, an unusual child is gifted with a mind for math , thus making him very valuable to the slave owner. His sister, Sari is under the mistress' control in the big house and their father John has to work in the stables. Junie also hears from God, and knows that the time will come for them to make their escape. He knows God will direct them, through everything, even the visions of flying things and objects he doesn't understand. Fast forward to present day. Zachary Trumbull, ex special forces soldier, has been haunted by dreams of a beautiful red haired, green eyed girl for most of his life. He knows that she is his true soul mate, not the one he married and is now making his life a living hell. A chance encounter, has Zachary fighting through unbelief, both spiritual and logical to realize God has a plan for him and the Bensons, if they can only persevere!

Later is the first book that I have read penned by the author Colette R Harrell.
This story is set in the past and the present. The story features a twelve-year-old boy Junie and his twenty-year-old sister Sari. Junie, Sari and their father John have never been whipped. As a slave to the Benson Plantation, Junie has attended the public whippings. John and Junie want Sari to be free.
Pick a copy of this book and get to know about ex-Special forces Lt Colonel Zachary who fell in love with a green eyed Goddess. Who is this beauty?
This book is about God's timing. It tells the readers that delay doesn't mean you've been denied. This book gives hope and faith. It's a well written book. The cover of the book is eye-catching. I enjoyed every bit of this story. The pace of the story is perfect and I wasn't bored anytime while reading it. This story will stay in my mind for a long time.
